Movie 24 - Tag (2018), Dir. Jeff Tomsic.
This movie was very fun to watch, it was full of jokes and fun moments that kept happening, making the entire movie very exciting to watch.
The introduction for each character was fun, it easily set the tone of the movie. The introductions were like each person tagging each other, which flowed well and was absolutely hilarious to see friends who have grown up run around and try to tag each other.
The dialogue was well-written, it felt very real like how friends generally talk. Nowhere did the dialogue feel slow or out of place. The cinematography of the scenes where the others are trying to tag Jerry was absolutely perfect, and it felt like it was from the Kingsman movies with the fast but focused camera and the sharp shots, making it very cool and thrilling.
The casting is on point, Jon Hamm, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, and Isla Fisher had the best chemistry, and all their scenes together were an absolute joy to watch. The energy and personality they bring out in their characters are unmatched.
Even the emotional hospital scene at the end was a beautiful ending showing that no matter what they will always be together. Them playing tag in the hospital and also including Isla Fisher in the game was just the cherry on the cake.
My only critique is that maybe Jerry could have been cast as someone else as he wasn't as funny compared to the other cast members, which made his character stand out and not in a good way. He felt very distant at times and not as connected. It could have been the writing or the casting. But, Jeremy Renner still did a phenomenal job, and he should definitely do more comedy movies, it was fun to see him in a more humorous role.
The compilation of the real people tagging them was a nice touch, and it was good to see they still kept it going after all the years.
There is not much that can be said about this movie, as words cannot describe the simplicity it brings out. It's a beautiful movie that highlights friendships and bonds of life. It's a must-watch as it's a silly movie that will make people of all ages laugh their hearts out. 9/10
